Help!

Okay, folks. I need big-time help here. This is the round robin block I am going to be working on this month. It's got a few problems. Notice the notch in the lower left corner and its mate in the upper right corner? Those are fixable, I think, with a scrap or two of left-over fabric that came in the box with the quilt. But, what about the next border????

Here is what I am thinking about doing. It is a border pattern from Quilter's Cache. I think I can make it without all those little triangles because it is basically just a four patch variation. I am thinking about using some of the Depression solids: greens, yellows, oranges, yellows, and maybe some more of the red so that there would be more contrast and that red and white part there in the middle wouldn't stand out quite so much. What do you think? Should it go all the way around? Just frame two sides?

Got a better idea? I'd love to hear it. All suggestions will be eagerly read and considered!

That border you linked to would be awesome! As long as the 'links' are in a dark colour, maybe pick up the red again? Definitely time for some bold contrast....

I like that border! I am going to have to try it in one of my quilts. I think it is perfect for your round robin top. I would think of red or a darker green for the links.

Love the border - that middle is definitely a challenge! I would definitely try to carry through that bright red. Good luck!

Two opposite corners would be nice - then you don't have to worry about getting the measurements exact

Yes for the red or some darker green.

I loved that Azalea at your MIL's. They always make me think of a bride.

I like that - the shapes echo what's already there. And putting in some red will definitely help the balance. I'd put it all the way around because there is an awful lot of "only two side" stuff going on already.

I think the quilt needs a bit more strong colours so the red would be a good idea. The border you chose is ideal as it is as well with crosses and knots. Well this quilt is certainly a challenge! Take care.
P.S. I put a picture of my socks on my blog for you to compare!
